Mulching & Wood Chipping Mornington Peninsula
On-site chipping of branches and prunings across the Mornington Peninsula, plus bulk mulch delivery for garden beds and landscaping from Mornington to Hastings.
Most Peninsula customers find us two ways, either through a stack of branches they've cut down themselves and now can't get rid of, or through a landscaping job that needs cubic metres of mulch delivered onto the block. The chipper handles the first, the tipper handles the second, and we can do both in the one visit if it suits.
For on-site chipping we bring the machine to your address and run anything up to about 200mm diameter through it. That covers prunings from a DIY weekend, branches from a fallen limb after a bay wind event, or green waste left over from a scrub tidy-up. The chip stays as a pile on your block for you to use, or we can load it back into the truck and take it away. Either way it's faster, cheaper and easier than trailer runs to the transfer station.
For bulk mulch delivery we stock three main lines, fresh hardwood chip from our own removals (good for paths, weed suppression and around mature trees), aged composted mulch (broken down enough to feed garden beds and new plantings), and a dyed landscape mulch for formal landscaping where appearance matters. Order by the cubic metre, delivered direct to the driveway across the Peninsula. Spreading can be added on if you don't want to wheelbarrow it yourself.

Mulching & Wood Chipping FAQs
How big a branch can the chipper handle?
Up to around 200mm diameter clean through, which covers most prunings and storm material from gums, moonah and cypress. Anything bigger we cut into chunks first, then put the smaller pieces through the machine. Trunk wood thicker than that usually gets cut into rounds and either left for firewood, or quoted as a separate haulage line if you want it gone.
What's the difference between fresh and aged mulch?
Fresh chip comes straight off our chipper after a tree removal (mostly hardwood, holds moisture well and locks down weeds. It's good for paths and around established trees. Aged mulch has spent months in a heap breaking down) it's softer, darker, and gentle enough for garden beds and new plantings where fresh chip would temporarily steal nitrogen from the soil.
How much mulch do I need to order?
For a 75 to 100mm layer over a garden bed, one cubic metre covers roughly 10 to 13 square metres. Measure the bed in metres, multiply length by width, then divide by 11 for a rough cubic-metre figure. Ring through the dimensions when you order and we'll work it out together so you don't end up with half a load left over.
Can the mulch be delivered and spread on the Peninsula?
Yes, both. Tipper drops are the default, the truck reverses up the driveway and tips the load wherever it can sit. If wheelbarrowing isn't on the cards, add the spreading line to the quote and the crew will rake the mulch out across your beds before they leave. Works well for holiday-property owners who want it done while they're not there.
